The Kajiado County Investment Authority (KCIA) was established through the Kajiado County Investment Authority Act 2021. The Act mandates the KCIA to serve as the premier agency responsible for driving investment promotion and facilitation within Kajiado County.
The Kajiado County Investment Authority (KCIA) has developed a 5-year (2023-2028) strategic plan branded Invest+ Impact to chart an ambitious course for delivering its mandate of promoting competitive and responsible investments that create economic value, opportunities and environmental sustainability across the county.
The KCIA has the following core functions:
Investment Identification and Promotion: Proactively identifying and promoting potential investment projects and opportunities aligned to the County’s priority sectors and growth strategy. This entails targeted campaigns, investment roadshows, and investor outreach.
Investment Facilitation and Support: Providing comprehensive support and guidance to investors throughout the investment lifecycle from entry to implementation and operations. This includes information provision, handholding on regulatory issues, licensing facilitation, and partnerships.
County Investment Database Management: Maintaining an updated investors’ database and repository of county resources, available assets, investment inventories, opportunities, economic data and spatial plans to guide potential investors.
Investment Policy Advisory: Providing expert guidance to the County Government on investment-related policies, incentives, legal and institutional reforms towards creating an enabling business environment.
Investment Financing and Resources: Engaging with financing institutions, private investors and partners to structure and mobilize funding, assets, and requisite resources for bankable county investment projects and priorities.
